The great broadbean massacre

Never before in vegetable history have so many died to feed so few.

  1. Well said. I don’t ‘get’ them. Though I have discovered removing the individual bean shell delivers a delicious bean that needs minimal cooking – but what an incredible amount of shell for such a small amount of food. Another ‘though’ came across a recipe that says she can eat the outer shell – without shelling – of young beans, so I tried on youngish looking one in a stir-fry, the result was unbelievable, painful bloating and gas enough to keep me away from other people. You REALLY Needed to know all that didn’t you? Bt the way enjoying the pics and tales from the Rwandan adventure.
